Terms of Service
Hirehound is a tool you operate. It finds jobs, prepares applications and submits them on employers' own sites, only inside the permission you give. These terms explain the deal.
Using Hirehound
By creating an account or using Hirehound at hirehound.ai, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18, in the United States, and looking for work for yourself.
Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Applying with your permission
Every application Hirehound submits is authorized by you. When you choose Apply or Final review on jobs you check, press OK, submit on a final review, or turn on auto-apply to new matches, you authorize Hirehound to submit that application on the employer's site in your name, from your applicant email, with your answers, and you confirm you have read that employer's privacy terms.
- Your leash decides how much Hirehound does without asking. Short leash, the default, stops before Submit for your OK.
- A dream job stops for your final review unless you separately allowed auto apply for dream jobs.
- Every submit waits 10 minutes before it goes, and you can cancel it in that time.
- You can change your leash or withdraw standing permission at any time, and it applies from then on.
Each application leaves a receipt of exactly what was sent, where and when.
Your materials
You are responsible for making sure your resume, standing answers and anything else you give Hirehound are true and yours to use. Tailoring reorders and rewords your real experience and never adds a skill, title or number that isn't in your materials; any line you flag as one you wouldn't defend in an interview is kept out of every application.
You keep ownership of your materials. You give Hirehound permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you: to rank jobs, prepare and submit the applications you authorize, route your mail and draft what you ask for.
Your email, inbox and employer accounts
- Applications go out from your own email address by default. If you choose not to forward mail, your Hirehound inbox address is your applicant email instead.
- Your Hirehound inbox is yours, for the applications you authorize. Hirehound reads it only to route, classify and forward your mail, and never sends from it.
- When you allow it, Hirehound creates accounts on employer sites with your applicant email and keeps their passwords encrypted. Those accounts belong to you: they are listed in Settings, where you can reveal the password, and they are exported and deleted with your account.
- Follow-ups Hank drafts are sent only after you approve the exact words, from your own Gmail if you connected it. Hirehound never sends anything on LinkedIn.
Plans and payment
- Every account starts with 25 free applications, with no card. The free applications are never dream jobs.
- Pay as you go sells applications in sets; each set is billed when its first application starts, unless you turned on Ask me before each set. Buy ahead is paid up front for a pack of applications, which does not expire.
- Pay when you're hired is chosen at sign-up and is governed by its own written agreement, which you sign before you owe anything.
- Only a submitted application uses your balance. A skipped, cancelled or failed application is returned to it. Every plan allows up to 100 applications a month.
- Interviews are never charged.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay, and a price change applies to purchases made after it.
If something went wrong on our side, tell us and we will make it right, which can include returning applications to your balance or a refund.
Fair use
Use Hirehound for your own job search. Don't:
- give false information to employers, or apply for jobs in someone else's name;
- try to get around the per-company limit, the monthly cap or the free-start rules, for example with several accounts;
- resell Hirehound, or copy, scrape or probe it;
- use it to harass anyone, or for anything unlawful.
We may pause applying or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why.
Employers and their sites
Hirehound applies on employers' own sites and hiring systems, which have their own terms. Employers decide whom to interview and hire, and may decline any application. An employer or hiring system may change its forms or block automated steps; when that happens, Hirehound tells you and, where it can, asks you to finish the step yourself.
What we don't promise
Hirehound does not guarantee interviews, offers or a job, or that a hiring manager will be found for any role. Outcomes depend on the market and on employers as much as on Hirehound.
Hirehound is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Hirehound in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited.
Pausing, leaving and changes
You can pause, finish or delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting has a 24-hour undo; after that, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Nothing recurs, so there is nothing to cancel.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect. If you keep using Hirehound after that, the new terms apply.
